Profile
Established in the 1930s this campground on the upper Guadalupe river has become a local icon. We offer fishing, picnicking, swimming (day use), along with tent camping, and RV site hookups. Electric and water available and we have indoor restrooms, hot showers, and laundry room. We can accommodate large groups with 1/2 to 3/4 mile of natural river front tent camping. Come and enjoy, relax, chill out, or float the beautiful, upper Guadalupe river.
Effective March 1, we open for the season. This is a great place to spend any hot Texas day. Our newly renovated campgrounds offer almost a mile of spacious drive up campsites, with limited water and electric hook ups, many shaded picnic tables at the sites, easy water acess, free hot and cold showers (up top), running water restrooms, washer/dryer, and port-a-potties throughout the entire property!! We are open 365 days a year, and 366 on leap year!! We have everything here at our camping paradise, including one of the best swimming holes around, rope swings, cliffs, and all.
To avoid any confusion, we have not moved at all. We are still here at 8195 U.S. Hwy 281 N., on both sides of the steel bridge at the Guadalupe river. We are just a short scenic drive north of San Antonio, and iyswell worth the drive to experience the tranquility of this place!! Our part of the river harbors some of the best family-friendly waters you will find out on the upper Guadalupe. We have a great shallow wading area by the bridge for the less confident swimmers, and deeper areas that are perfect for the little fish in the family! The current runs very light, and alot of people like to build a little wall in the rapids to sit under and have the water give them a massage.
Spend a day out in nature on a canoe, raft, tube, or you can try out one of our brand new Jackson Rivera kayaks, they don’t come any better than this folks!! This is a great way to experience nature at its best. You can get away from the house for the day at the origional home of the $5 spot!!!!
Established in 1971, Guadalupe Canoe Livery is committed to your safe and enjoyable river experience. We offer six canoe, kayak, raft or tube trips on the Upper Guadalupe River above Canyon Lake from FM 3351 to Rebecca Creek Road.
We are not under any of the New Braunfels restrictions. Enjoy floating the Beautiful Upper Guadalupe River as it twist and turns through private property and the Guadalupe River State Park. This 23-mile stretch of river has several Class I & II rapids and waterfalls.
The Upper Guadalupe River above Canyon Lake is about 15 degrees warmer than the River below, which gets its water released from the bottom of the dam. We have all brand new Jackson Rivera kayaks, Hyside rafts, and high grade Doberman tubes that come with or without a bottom. Come on a whim, or make a reservation ahead of time!
