The Little Sand Bay Recreation Area is located in a scenic and secluded spot just off of Lake Superior, approximately 15 minutes north of historic Bayfield, WI. The campground is operated by the Town of Russell and offers a variety of amenities including a boat ramp and dock, swimming beach, picnic area, gazebo, ball field & game area, RV sanitary station and restroom/shower facilities. The campground has 47 sites, including RV, trailer, tent and group sites. Electricity, water, ice and firewood are all available. Reservations are available for a fee. Conveniently located near an Apostle Islands Nat’l Lakeshore visitor center and ranger station.

– YesThe Town of Russell owns and operates a campground, boat ramp and harbor docking area, picnic area with beautiful sand swimming beach and sports field and playground area at Little Sand Bay on the shores of Lake Superior.
The campground has 32 RV sites with electric, many are drive through sites. A total of 13 tent only sites are available and one large group site with a gazebo is available. Water spigots are located throughout the campground. Showers are provided along with the availability of firewood, ice, and various incidentals. A RV/trailer dump station is on site as well as garbage dumpsters and recycling containers. Fish cleaning facilities are also present.
The facilities are also available for group events such as reunions, family gatherings, weddings, sporting events, etc. Please contact reservations for further information regarding your special event.
