As summer is winding down and the kids will soon be heading back to school or college, it’s the perfect time to take that final family trip to New River Campground! Come enjoy fun outdoor activities like camping, canoeing, kayaking and tubing along the historic New River. We have been extremely busy this season and reservations have been filling up quickly, so NOW is the time to CONTACT US and secure your spot to come play in the sun and sleep under the stars!

We are excited to announce that New River Campground will be featured in the November issue of OUR STATE magazine as a part of their story on the New River. So be sure to pick up a copy when it hits the stands!

ABOUT NEW RIVER CAMPGROUND

New River CampgroundWhether it’s a leisurely day of paddling, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, or fishing, an exciting river trip down Class I, II or III rapids, or a relaxing weekend stay on the New River, we can help you plan the perfect family vacation or group outing.

NEW RIVER CAMPGROUND is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia at an elevation of 2600 feet and spans an entire mile along the scenic New River. For those planning an overnight or weekend stay, we offer tent sites, camping cabins and efficiency apartments to suit your camping preference.

PavillionOur Campstore is well stocked for all of your camping needs. With supplies for picnicking, canoeing, camping and fishing, we have got you covered. Our large picnic pavilion is the perfect spot to entertain large groups.
Our family playground is equipped for hours of fun for the kids. We also have two bathhouses to accommodate you, each with toilets and hot showers and separate facilities for both men and women.

The gates to the campground area are opened at 7:00 a.m. and closed at 10:00 p.m.. The gates will only be opened at other hours in cases of an emergency only. All rates quoted are for cash or check, the preferred method of payment. We also accept MasterCard and Visa. There will be a 3% surcharge on all credit card purchases. Remember that reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends and holidays. The nature of our business on holidays causes us to require a minimum of three days stay during those times regardless of the accommodations you are reserving. Please allow 48 hours notice in the event of a cancellation to ensure a refund of your deposit. For holiday weekend cancellations, we require a 5 day cancellation notice to ensure a refund of your deposit.

Our Campstore is well stocked for all of your needs. With supplies for picnicking, canoeing, camping and fishing we have got you covered. If you like to travel with your lap top the Campstore features wireless internet access. You will also find an assortment of souvenirs, so don’t forget to pick up your New River Campground t-shirt or ball cap. There is also a pool table to enjoy on rainy days. The store features a large covered front porch with picnic tables for grabbing that quick snack.

Our smaller picnic shelters are the perfect spot for a family picnic beside the river.

Our large Picnic Pavilion is the perfect spot for larger groups. Whether it’s club meetings, church organizations, family reunions, business picnics, or anything else, we can accommodate you in a beautiful and relaxing environment. The Picnic Pavilion features a large built in grill, picnic tables and a stage with lights and is available seven days a week.

New River Campground Canoeing and Kayaking has two bathhouses to accommodate you, each with toilets and hot showers and separate facilities for both men and women.
