Eagle’s Roost Campground is located in Huddleston,VA on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake.
Campground services include:
a sandy beach,
graveled roads,
two bathhouses,
a laundry room,
a boat ramp,
both covered and uncovered slips,
non-denominational services on Sunday and
welcoming seasonal campers!All overnight RV sites are shaded and have 30A service and water. Some tent sites have electricity. Full hook ups are available only on leased seasonal sites and seasonal sites may not be sublet. There are three dumping stations and two full service bath houses on the property as well as rest rooms in the office. The campground does not offer Internet service, but those with aircards or smartphones will find good coverage by most carriers.
With 95% seasonal campsites and 5% overnight or short term sites for RVers and tenters, reservations are required for short term stays. Call for rates and reservations. The cancellation policy requires a 24 hour notice for a refund. Major credit cards are accepted.
All dogs must be kept on leashes. Occasionally, a squirrel or two may visit your campsite but the property is relatively “critter free” with many opportunities for seeing the wonders of nature–or catching them!
Eagle’s Roost Campground, on the east side of the lake in Bedford County, is between the Smith Mountain Lake State Park and Parkway Marina at Saunder’s Point on VA state route 626.
Mayberry Drive-in operates on weekends during the season and is only 10 minutes away by car. For families interested in geocaching, there are just under three hundred registered caches on the lake. A number of vineyards are within an hour’s drive and the annual Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival draws quite a crowd.
Most lakeside marinas offer opportunities for feeding the rather large carp!
Recreational activities such as golfing, fishing, boating, and swimming are obvious choices for outdoor enthusiasts
